The F Word…

…is ‘FOCUS’.
Everyone has a dream; a vision.
Everyone has a mission.
We walk through life on roads; some choose the narrow that leads to eternity while most of us choose the wide, broad road that leads to destruction…
Like roads however, without ‘focus’, you create your own destruction. Without focus you lose control; without focus your world could crash. What’s worse is that your crash will affect others too.
Before you hit the road you need to know where you’re going; don’t start an unplanned journey.
To know where you’re going and why you’re going there; you need to know where you’ve been.
Once you know where you want to be, it’s time to concentrate on how you’re going to get there.
Look out for signs; ask for directions…the Lord, elders, people with experience, someone who is already there. You might take wrong turnings no doubt, but like London roads, you always find yourself back on track. Can you talk on the phone and drive at the same time? Some of us are great at multi-tasking…others are not. Try to keep your focus to a minimum. Many obstacles are placed along our paths to hold us back from reaching our destination. Sometimes certain people or things become distractions…don’t forget the F word. Some people believe that their destiny is already mapped out for them but I believe that it’s in our hands. We control our future destination; we are in the driving seat.
Treat life like a book if you must. Make a plan of what you want your future’s story to be about; we may not have control with how our life begins…and unfortunately how it ends, but the middle section is always the part that makes a story worth telling. Jotting things down helps you visualise what steps you have to take. Use every day you wake up to, to start writing the chapters to this book; your autobiography. Create a story worth telling; one filled with wisdom, love, success, mistakes and lessons learnt, to pass onto the future children of the world. Do you know your full potential? Most probably not, but like best-selling books sometimes the sale figures were never anticipated by the author. Do you think J.K. Rowling could even imagine how successful Harry Potter would become? She had a story to tell and she stayed focused.
Leave a mark on the earth so deep that it will never erode long after your dead and gone. The world was not made in a day. Don’t let frustration get the best of you if your journey takes longer or is bumpier than expected. Just before you ever feel like giving up and cursing out, don’t forget a special F word…the word is ‘FOCUS’.
