Throwback Article: Are You Serious?

The dating game today is more complex than ever with an alarming amount of males still considering themselves as ‘‘player’s’’ and ‘‘ballers’’ whilst there are females who feel that there are a limited amount of serious men who have ambition and actually know how to treat a lady. In my opinion respect and pride play huge roles in this conflict of interest.
You see, contrary to popular female opinion, not all of you are ladies and you’re definitely not all serious. This is why those who are not serious may have heard men refer to you as ‘‘skets’’ or ‘‘loose tings’’. Equally, the modern day woman has become more resourceful and independent. She is no longer the submissive woman of the 19th Century; indeed her standards have risen and as a result so too have the expectations of any potential companion. Unfortunately for us guys, this means that those of you who just aren’t cutting it i.e. believe it’s ok for you to be male and have no real ambition, will be referred to as a ‘‘wasteman’’.
Now don’t get me wrong there are of course, serious, well to – do ladies out there but just not as many as you girls like to believe. I put the ratio to be at about 80%/20% - that is, 20% of women are actual ladies who are as we men like to put it, ‘‘wifey material’’. The rest of you…well you do the maths. If you’re getting mad at this statistic it is likely that you may well be in that unfortunate 80%, after all if you were in the 20% then why would this statistic have any relevance to you?
There are certainly fundamentals to what makes a girl ‘‘wifey material’’ one of the most important being that the girl is trustworthy and not likely to cheat. I recently asked a number of random girls whether they had ever cheated or ever would and as you can guess the vast majority said no. However, I also asked a number of guys whether they 
had ever been involved with a girl who was already spoken for and the vast majority said yes! Somebody is lying here and I can’t say with certainty who because obviously I don’t know every girl in London and the surrounding areas. But there is definitely a cause for concern and it is this concern which makes guys hesitant to develop serious relationships with girls.
Girls, you also need to know the difference between what makes you a casual girlfriend and what makes you that special wifey. Most serious guys appreciate good looks, fair enough, but what they will really value beyond measure is a brain! If your life concerns are your looks, the most recent gossip on road and what the new season of Gucci handbags will look like then you are very unlikely to be considered as ‘‘the girl I can bring home to mummy’’.
Guys, lets not think for a second that just because there are not as many ‘‘serious’’ girls out there as we would like that that means we can let our game slack! These days girls aren’t playing around and will not hesitate to tell you straight – ‘‘you’re a wasteman, move from me!’’
As competitive as this world is, every girl is looking for the best guy they can get and if you’re all about just laying about all day with no job and no aspirations then your chances of being that guy are extremely slim you waste fool! How can you expect to maintain a serious relationship with a girl who falls in that special 20% 
when all you have to offer is owning the latest Huarache’s, Nike tracksuit and an income of £90 every two weeks from JSA? My suggestion is you update your CV and take it from there son.
London is a diverse city with several ‘‘business’’ avenues and I’m sure there are guys arguing the point that there are full time fraudsters and ‘‘shottas’’ that make more money than anybody their age who works honestly for their money so should they be considered waste? Well the only way to answer that is to answer whether having money makes you serious or not.
Some girls will not mind their man ‘‘shottin’’ or doing fraud as long as he has enough money to pay for whatever they desire. Other girls, who are more serious in my opinion, will not care how much money you are making; if it comes from an illegal activity they are not interested. And fellas can you blame them? After all what kind of position to do you leave your family if you go to prison or the house you’re living in is seized by Inland Revenue?
The point I’m trying to make is that as a guy in this day and age you must have something positive to bring to the table other than your ‘‘road name’’ before even a lot of the girls in the 80% will take you seriously. If you’re reading this and thinking that you’re serious because you have a car, make money and you get girls then you need to think again. How I understand girls is that they want a guy with potential. If you seem as though you’ve reached your potential and you’re going to be on the same level you are now in five years time, then you’re useless to them.
