Is Black History Month Still Relevant? (Friday 2nd October)

“I personally think it is a huge waste of time in this country - last year was the first one I actually enjoyed and that was in another borough. The proper insightful events are not advertised and for as long as I remember Black History Month has revolved around the popular figures of Dr Martin, Malcolm X and Rosa Parks - these 3 figures are a drop in the Ocean of our history. The month should be used to educate our youth about figures and issues they will not learn about in their classrooms” - Jide (ACS Kings and Queens)
